Flexible and Versitle LED Landscape Lighting

December 19, 2007

Low voltage LED landscape lighting has many advantages and offers a high level of flexibility to the landscape professional or home owner. Unlike standard low voltage halogen or incandescent outdoor lighting, LED lighting allows for long wires runs with little or no voltage drop. This also allows the homeowner or professional installer more options in terms of locating transformer boxes.

Although the LED technology is far more advanced than the halogen or incandescent lighting, the components used for LED landscape lighting are the same making installation simple. Standard landscape lighting wire and transformers are used which allows for continued use of common landscape lighting accessories such as timers or photocells.

LED landscape lighting is also attractive because it can be used in series with existing halogen lighting products so outdated and inefficient halogen or incandescent systems can be updated using existing wiring and can be done one at a time.
